Twenty-five years of making Atlanta work better for its neighborhoods
John Ahmann is president and CEO of the Westside Future Fund, a nonprofit created by public, private and philanthropic partners to support the revitalization of Atlanta’s Westside neighborhoods.
For more than 25 years, John has been driven by one question: how can Atlanta’s communities and institutions work better? His career has taken him from a staff role in the U.S. House of Representatives to the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, and later to the Metro Atlanta Chamber. Before joining the Westside Future Fund, he served as executive director of the Atlanta Committee for Progress.
Serving his hometown
An Atlanta native, John also runs his own public affairs consulting firm and served two terms on the City Schools of Decatur Board of Education. He is a member of Leadership Atlanta’s class of 2024 and holds degrees from Emory University and the Yale School of Management.
